Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 14, 2026 Last updated: September 14, 2026
The BreakLine Team ("we", "us") explains in this policy how user information is handled in the mobile app "BreakLine" (the "App").
1. Our approach
The App does not require an account. We never collect information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, or phone number.
The App does not request device permissions such as location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos.
2. Information we handle
2.1 Information stored only on your device
The following is stored only on your device and is never sent anywhere. Deleting the App deletes it.
- Game progress (best floor reached, cores earned, unlocked upgrades, play statistics)
- Settings (display language, sound, effect intensity, and so on)
- Whether you have purchased Remove Ads
- A local copy of your leaderboard name
2.2 Information sent for the leaderboard
To provide the online leaderboard, the App sends the following to Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), provided by Google LLC, where it is stored.
| Information | Details |
|---|---|
| Anonymous user ID | An identifier issued by Firebase Authentication's anonymous sign-in. It is not linked to your name or email address |
| Display name | A name generated automatically by the App (e.g. "Swift Prism 4417"). You cannot enter or change it |
| Floor reached | Sent when you set a new personal best |
| Time achieved | Used to order players who reached the same floor |
- We use this information only to show the leaderboard and calculate rankings
- Your display name and floor reached are visible to other players on the leaderboard screen
- Cloud Firestore data is stored in Google's Tokyo region (asia-northeast1)
- If you do not want to take part in the leaderboard, you can play without sending this information by keeping your device offline (for example, in airplane mode)
2.3 Purchase information
Purchases of Remove Ads are processed and paid through Apple Inc. (App Store) or Google LLC (Google Play). We never receive payment details such as your credit card number. The App receives only whether a purchase was completed, and stores that result on your device.
3. Information sent to third-party services
The App includes the following third-party services, which receive user information. That information is handled under each provider's own privacy policy.
| Recipient | Main information sent | Purpose | Provider's policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google LLC) | Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, advertising ID on Android), IP address, device model and OS, ad impressions and interactions in the App, approximate location inferred from the IP address | Serving ads, measuring ad performance, preventing fraud | Google Privacy Policy / How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services |
| Firebase (Google LLC) | The information in 2.2, IP address, device model and OS | Providing the leaderboard, preventing invalid records | Privacy and Security in Firebase |
| App Store (Apple Inc.) | Purchase information | Processing in-app purchases | Apple Privacy Policy |
| Google Play (Google LLC) | Purchase information | Processing in-app purchases | Google Privacy Policy |
We never receive your advertising identifier itself.
The App may show the rating prompt provided by your operating system to ask you to rate the App. Anything you enter there goes to Apple or Google; we do not receive it.
4. Ad personalization and tracking
iOS
Before using the advertising identifier, the App asks for your permission through App Tracking Transparency. This prompt appears just before the first ad is shown, not at launch.
If you decline, you can still use every feature of the App without restriction. The ads you see simply won't be based on your interests. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads (on some devices, Settings > Google > Ads).
5. Disclosure to third parties
Apart from the transmissions to third-party services described in Section 3, we do not disclose user information to third parties except:
- with your consent;
- where required by law; or
- where necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent.
6. Retention and deletion
- Information on your device: deleted when you delete the App
- Leaderboard information: kept for as long as we operate the leaderboard, and deleted when we stop operating it
Deleting the App does not automatically delete your leaderboard information. To request deletion, contact us at the address in Section 10 with the name shown under "Your name" on the leaderboard screen. We will confirm the request and delete the record.
7. Security
Leaderboard information is sent and received over encrypted connections. Access to the database is restricted so that players cannot modify records other than their own.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Your rights and changes to this policy
To request access to, correction of, suspension of use of, or deletion of information we hold about you, contact us at the address in Section 10. We will respond appropriately in accordance with applicable law.
We may update this policy as needed. When we do, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. We will also announce significant changes in the App or in its store listing.
If this English translation differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
